In addition to our two annual events, National Night Out Against Crime and the Cinco de Mayo fair, we do offer many other programs and events that benefit the community and promote inclusiveness for all.

Classes for Parents

Strengthening Multi-Ethnic Families & Communities

This class offers tools and ideas for parents to help improve their relationships with their children. Learn how to incorporate cultural values in raising your children. Dinner is provided free of charge, as is childcare for children older than 2 years of age. For more information and/or registration, call the center at (425) 513-2880.

Leading Change Through Advocacy

This workshop will be available to parents who have children in a local school district. The course will teach parents what their rights are as parents, what their children rights are, and how they can be better advocates for children in the community. Workshops will be at Cavalero Mid High School (8220 24th St SE, Everett, WA 98258) in Lake Stevens starting October 22nd at 1pm. Contact the center to register. 

WAYout

WAYout is a two-day seminar provided by Cocoon House in partnership with Familias Unidas. This seminar is designed to help parents of adolescent teens through what could be difficult years of adolescence. Some of the topics include self-identity and effective communication. Both parents and youth learn how to express their feelings without feeling ignored. This course is court-approved and has helped many families throughout the county. Latino Parent Support Group

Cocoon House, in partnership with Familias Unidas, will have a parent support group at Familias Unidas for Spanish speaking parents. The support group will be helpful for families of teens and pre-teens. The group will do reflection exercises and learn how to use each other as resources. Please call (425)339-4179 for details.

Project SAFE Intervention Program for Youth At Risk

This program is for parents who find themselves saying any of the following:

“I’ve tried everything to control my adolescent. Nothing works.”
“I’m afraid my child is
going to run away.”
“I feel powerless… like a prisoner in my own home.”

If you identify with any of the above situations, you can call for a free
consultation to find access to resources in the community, parenting class taught in Spanish, and other forms of support. Please call Project SAFE at Cocoon House at (425) 317-9898 to set an appointment for a phone consultation.

Learning Together Play Group
This morning class is for parents with children 6 months to four years of age. Everyone learns English while they play and develops the needed skills to flourish and thrive in multicultural communities Salsa.


Youth Group

Salsa Youth Dance Group

Raza Sin Humo

Raza Sin Humo is an anti-tobacco program we have for youth. It’s a page on Facebook where you can share your thoughts and feelings behind tobacco advertisements in your community. We welcome you to share pictures of both positive and negative things you see in YOUR community.

Raíces Latinas
Raíces Latinas is a summer program for Latino youth. We are currently hoping to be able to have a monthly meeting where youth can interact with other Latinos who are currently in college or are professionals in the community. Alcohol Support Group
A million people are  affected by the excessive drinking of someone they know: siblings, children, parents, grandparents, spouses, significant others, friends, etc. Alateen is a support group in Spanish for people who are affected by the alcoholism of others. Money Smart for Adults
Money Smart for Adults is a workshop that will proved important information that adults can use when handling their finances. This class will be given in Spanish. The class will be held on Wednesdays starting October 12th from 6pm-7pm at Union Bank Evergreen Way (6623 Evergreen Way, Everett). Please call Juanita Clifford to register.

Money Smart for Youth
